Racing number and chip
This edition we will use chips (timekeeping) that are incorporated in the starting number. It is therefore important that you do not lose it along the way. The advantage is that you do not have to hand it in and therefore do not run the risk of costs (for not returning the individual chip).
You can check in your bag (bags only!) in the cloakroom in the white tent on the athletics track. You will get a number stickered on your starting bib, corresponding to a number on your bag.
If you come to pick up your belongings after the race, you have to show your offical racing number of the 2022 Sloterplasloop with the stickered cloakroom number. Only when you show this sticker with the number you will be able to take your bag (with the same number) from the cloakroom!
The start of the race is in a different position for every distance. Before the race, make sure you know where your start is located. Also, the start of the race is exactly on the stated time, make sure you are in time in the right place. However, both the 5k and the 10k distance work with a net time, so your own personal time will only start counting when you pass the start line.
The start of the 10k is in separated sections because of the large crowds. The competitive race runners start in front, behind them you can position yourself in a section based on your predicted finish time. The pacers will also be in these sections.
After the start of the 10k the runners will first do a lap on the athletics track. The start is in the inside four lanes, after that you will be directed to the outside four lanes.
Transportation and parking
The start and finish are located on the athletics track of AAC at Willinklaan 7 in Amsterdam.
If you come to the race by bicycle, make sure you put your bicycle in one of the racks. If the racks are full, make sure you put your bike in a place where it does not form an obstacle to the race, the visitors or emergency vehicles.
NEVER park your car in front of the entrance gate. The organization and emergency vehicles need to have clearance.
You can park your car for free in these spots:
– Parking area in front of Sportcentrum Ookmeer on Dr. Meurerlaan
– Parking area near the baseballfields at Herman Bonpad
– Along Abe Lenstralaan
– Parking area along Willinklaan (attention! one way traffic!)
The athletics track is easy to reach by public transport. Busline 61 stops in front of the entrance at stop ‘Willinklaan’. Also the final stops of tramline 13 and busline 21 are in walking distance.
